StableCare: What are the terms?
In today's world where micromobility vehicles are not only a mode of transportation but also a cherished possession, securing your ride is more crucial than ever. Stable introduces its flagship product, StableCare, an innovative protection offer that provides peace of mind and an added layer of security to micromobility owners with its unique, all-encompassing approach. Most importantly, StableCare is available for e-scooters!
Compatible with Sold Secure Gold locks or higher, StableCare requires users to use the Stable app (Get it on Google Play, or on Apple TestFlight) to log their parking every time they lock up. This practice not only records the bike's location but also encourages mindful parking, focusing on safer, camera-monitored parking spots, known as Stables. The aim is to significantly reduce bike theft by promoting best practices for lock-up and inculcating a habit of conscious selection of parking spots among bike owners.
StableCare highly recommends the use of angle-grinder resistant locks like the Litelok X1, Litelok X3, or Hiplock D1000. These high-security Sold-Secure Diamond locks protect against angle-grinder attacks, significantly lowering theft rates, providing optimum protection to your bicycle or PEV. The habitual use of such locks is encouraged to reinforce security habits that minimize theft rates and, in turn, lower StableCare membership fees.
The procedure to report a theft is comprehensive, ensuring the legitimacy of every claim. The moment a user realizes their vehicle has been stolen, they must promptly file a police report. Gathering evidence from cameras monitoring their vehicle, including obtaining a recorded clip of the theft if possible, significantly enhances their chances of a successful StableCare claim.
Transparency is key in the StableCare process. Context is especially important when reporting a theft to Stable. Users that submit a claim should have a history of continuous use of the app to log parking and add new stables. New users that have never logged parking, mapped stables, and did not park at a stable (and thus can't get video footage of the theft) who file a theft claim are likely to have their claim rejected due to a lack of history and suspicious circumstances. This stringent process is in place to keep the community trustworthy and to minimize fraudulent claims.
Registration for StableCare requires users to provide detailed information, including their vehicle's serial number, specifics about their lock, and proof of purchase through a receipt. This aids in the authentication process, establishing the basis of the trust between Stable and the user.
In essence, StableCare is not just a protection offer, it's a community where every member contributes to the collective safety of all vehicles. By continuously reinforcing best practices related to lock-up and advocating for locks that have lower theft rates, StableCare offers a proactive solution for micromobility security, ultimately benefitting all StableCare members by keeping fees affordable. Together with StableCare, let's make the streets safer for our beloved rides.
